FC Barcelona seeks to raise €1.5 million debt to fund stadium renovation

For the purpose of funding the renovation of its storied stadium, the Nou
Camp, FC Barcelona is looking to raise 1.5 million euros from private
investors. According to those with firsthand knowledge of the situation, the
club is actively seeking investors in the US private placement market to raise
long-term finance. The deal is being organized by Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan

The club will get 225 million euros as part of an agreement with music
streaming service Spotify, which is anticipated to be finalized shortly. In
exchange, Spotify will sponsor both the men’s and women’s shirts in addition to
their workout attire. Additionally, Spotify will have the stadium’s rights for
the following three seasons, which has drawn mixed reactions from the team’s supporters.

From 2026 forward, the club intends to charge more than 200 million euros
for this space. A third of this sum would be used to pay off the loan.

With 420 million invested in the new Palau, which has a bus stop and an ice
rink, 100 million would be used to construct the Barça Campus and urbanize the
neighborhood, and 60 million would be allocated to the General Metropolitan
Plan, the Espai Barça will be finished.
