Win 15,000 USD in the African Conversation Challenge for developers

From time immemorial, rural voices have been either missing or largely ignored in much of the debate and decision-making around the management of natural resources, particularly wildlife, in Africa. It is widely acknowledged, however, that the involvement of local people is critical to successful conservation outcomes.

To solve this particular issue, Yoti in partnership with AfriLabs and other organizations have launched a social purpose initiative – an African Conservation Challenge that aims to support the development of a trusted online forum where critical debates can safely take place, this online platform aims to help communities take their rightful place as equal partners in policy negotiation, development, and implementation processes.

The Challenge will be open to web developers (any individual or organisation based anywhere on the African continent) and it is accessible to members of the AfriLabs network. Interested and qualified individuals are encouraged to submit a short proposal outlining the proposed functionality and layout of the website and a prize of $15,000 is available to the winner.

Please note, the deadline for submission is the 30th of May, 2021.
