Nigeria Stock Market NGX All-Share Index gains N13.07b to close at N26.96 trillion on Thursday

The benchmark index of Nigerian Exchanges Limited, NGX All-Share Index, registered a 0.05% rise to close at 49,499.43 points, the highest position since 15 September, marking the seventh straight session of gains. In a total of 2,999 transactions, 132.57 million shares worth N3.14 billion were exchanged. The market capitalization increased by N13.07 billion to close at N26.96 trillion while the year-to-date (YTD) return increased to 15.88% as a result.

This winning streak is the longest since between 8 April and 9 May. The market’s good performance was driven by gains in GTCO (+0.45%), FBNH (+4.05%), and STANBIC (+3.90%), which outweighed losses in DANGCEM (-0.50%), ZENITHBANK (-0.82%), and NB (-0.53%).

The market activity revealed that trade turnover was lower than it had been during the previous session, with a 50.47% decrease in transaction value. With 29.10 million units moved, FBNH (+4.05%) topped the volume charts, while AIRTELAFRI (+0.00%) topped the value charts with 925.10 million deals.

At a ratio of 1.08 to 1, the market breadth closed in the positive, with more rising issues than declining ones. On the gainer’s log, JBERGER (+9.91%) outperformed thirteen (13) other companies, while UPDCREIT (-6.4%) outperformed twelve (12) other companies on the laggard’s table.
