The Nigeria Startup Support and Engagement Portal serves as a centralized platform aimed at organizing and categorizing startups in Nigeria to take advantage of the benefits outlined in the Nigerian Startup Act 2022. Its primary function is to streamline the identification of Nigerian startups, venture capital firms, hubs, and innovation centers in accordance with the guidelines set forth in Section 10 of the Nigerian Startup Act, 2022. The Startup Support and Engagement Portal acts as a comprehensive hub offering startups convenient access to registration, information, resources, incentives, partnerships, and connections.

Launched by the Honourable Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, the Portal is part of the Nigeria Startup Act (NSA 2022), aimed at fostering the growth of startups and tech talent in Nigeria. Join 12,948 startups, 912 VCs, 1,735 Angel Investors, and 925 Accelerators, Incubators & Hubs already registered on the portal.

Startups Eligibility Criteria

  • 1. Be a limited liability company and registered with CAC under the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA).
  • 2. Be a company that has existing for less than 10 years from the date of incorporation.
  • 3. Have objects (MEMART) focused on innovation, development, production, improvement, and commercialization of digital technology innovative product or process.
  • 4. Be a holder or repository of a product or process of digital technology or the owner or author of a registered software.
  • 5. Have at least one-third of local shareholding held by one or more Nigerians as founder or co-founders.
  • 6. Satisfy the conditions set out in the Act, in the case of a sole proprietorship or partnership;
  • 7. Be a technology enabled business utilizing existing tools, platforms, libraries, and frameworks to make a solution more efficient or effective.
